Florence is a great place to get out and enjoy the South Carolina sunshine – whether you’re into trailspaddlinggolf, or sports! As SC Great Outdoors says, “get out, and get a little dirty!”

Immerse yourself in nature when you hike one of the many interconnecting trails in Florence County from the extended City of Florence Rail Trail System that connects cultural features, parks, and historical sites to the Stagecoach Trail loop at Lynches River County Park. You also can saddle up for a trail ride or paddle down the Revolutionary Rivers trail.
You’ll find the SC Revolutionary Rivers Trail for paddling excursions on Lynches River and the Great Pee Dee River. The Black River and Little Pee Dee are also popular. You can stop by Lynches River County Park to rent a kayak or canoe for a day, or work through the local outfitters for guided trips. Whether by foot, bike, horse or kayak, there’s plenty of nature to discover in Florence.

South Carolina is the place to golf. Challenge yourself on the PGA-sanctioned Country Club of South Carolina or enjoy playing at the CrossingsPalms, or Traces.

Once you master the links in Florence, check out the others in the area. There are tons of courses near Florence to enjoy.

There are also plenty of games and matches to watch! From amateur to professional, Florence is covered with teams to enjoy. From baseball to tennis, soccer to swimming, there are leagues for all and games to enjoy. From Francis Marion University and Florence-Darlington Technical College sports to summertime’s Florence RedWolves baseball to city and county recreational teams, there’s plenty to cheer for.
